Known at the time of its launch (1989) as the 'Magic Drainpipe', the lens was of very good optical quality, one of the last longer lenses not to get the white body treatment. AF is quite noisy. Many were used by sports photographers, so have not had a tough life. Check any on offer well, since most spare parts are no longer available.
