Whilst light and fairly economical, this lens quickly drew criticisms over its level of distortion and low overall image quality. On a crop sensor camera it gives a long reach, but without any image stabilisation, the need to use it well stopped down seriously limits its usefulness. On a full frame sensor, the distortion leaps out at you.
